Which Oil Would I Use if I Would Like to Flavour My Cooking?

If using nonstick cookware, oil is not needed. However, if you prefer to use oil for flavour, olive or peanut oil is recommended as heavy vegetable oils may leave a residue which may impair the nonstick release system.

Allowing your pan to heat up for a few minutes before adding food, and putting oil on the food rather than directly into the pan will help in keeping your pan oil free.

Do not use oil sprays on nonstick cookware as the ultra-thin layer of oil will quickly burn onto the nonstick surface when the cookware is heated. Over a period, the use of oil sprays results in an invisible build up which will impair the nonstick release system.

Use low heat when heating up oils, as oils can quickly overheat and cause a fire.

Other oils that can be used include: Rice bran oil, grapeseed oil and avocado oil.
